I am Alayna Robins of A-style. I'm an Auckland based personal stylist/style consultant. I started A-style after many years of working within the fashion industry, and for various leading woman's and men's retailers.
"Style is a way to say who you are, without having to speak." - Rachel Zoe
When I was two years old I was walking around wearing my mum's high heels. It was obvious that I was going to be a fashionista. Growing up everybody always used to ask the standard question, "What do you want to be when you grow up"? My answer was always a fashion designer, or I want to own my own clothing store or I want to be a fashion stylist...there was never any doubt in my mind that the fashion industry was one I wanted to be a part of. I went on to make it my mission to learn the ins and outs of the industry...I competed in young designer competitions, became a member of the Westfield NZ fashion board, studied fashion design, worked in both men's and women's retail stores and then worked my way up to become part of the head office team for some of the leading retail fashion brands in Australasia. After over 10 years in the industry and working with many woman and men consumers throughout that time I saw a need for people who just weren't sure how to put looks together for themselves or shop smartly. A need for people who wanted advice but wanted someone they could trust to give it to them. A need for people who love fashion, clothes and looking good but just didn't really know where to start or how to create their own personal style. So that led me to starting A-style. My aim is to help people look good and feel amazing and teach them tips and tricks on how to enhance their own personal style, make wise purchases and be as stylish as they have always wanted to be. Previously, a Personal stylist or personal shopper was known as something only the rich and famous could afford- that is no longer the case. A-style shopping trips can be tailored to suit any budget, with the outcome always being that you walk away feeling amazing. It's a tiny little investment in yourself....go on you deserve it!
